From Metronews:
While many Calgary visitors praised the city this past weekend while here for the Grey Cup, some claimed they were left out in the cold waiting for taxi service.
R.J Williams, from Regina, witnessed a group of people wait for over an hour outside a local eatery for a cab after having drinks.
“They got tired of waiting and decided to drive — it’s not a good sign. I’m not here often, but it seems like you can’t get a cab,” he said.
Taxi numbers are not a new issue, but Ward 8 Ald. John Mar said he supports a review.
“I think it’s an issue we should look into — we are a city of 1.1 million people and I think we need to do a review from the top down,” he said, adding council recently made some Livery Transport changes.
Associated Cabs manager and taxi committee member Roger Richard said his drivers are already working at only 30 per cent capacity.
“To add more cabs in the city would be disaster for drivers, we already have more than enough — it would hurt them,” Richard said, adding Friday night’s weather chaos would have delayed taxis no matter how any cabs the city had.
Really? Hey Rog’. Your cabs are at 30%? Ok, I think you’re a fucking liar.
Fuck you.
I don’t mean to be offensive. But I can’t think of anything else to say! So I’ll say it again.
Hey Rog’. Fuck you!
30%. Get fucked. (Edit: That was one too many, I think, in retrospect.)
